APOKRYFO GUESTHOUSE
Tucked away in the sleepy village of Lofou in the Troodos foothills, it’s the labour of love of the accomplished Cypriot architect Vakis Hadjikyriacou and his British wife Diana, a talented interior designer. In 2008 they bought a quartet of ramshackle stone houses, some without roofs, others overrun with pomegranite trees, and transformed them into 5 picture perfect suites and 4 stylish houses for 4-8 persons, each offering cosy interiors with open fireplaces and fully equiped country style kitchens.
The complete renovation was carried out by local builders and craftsmen using traditional materials and long forgotten building techniques and crafts. The entire project was designed with respect to the environment and to revive the local community of Lofou and its surrounding villages by employing and engaging young people to stay and live in the countryside.
